Applies to: the website mampolu.de (also reachable via mampolu.com, mampolu.app and mampolu.games)
In short
This website is a plain information page with no accounts, forms, cookies, tracking, analytics, advertising or embedded third-party content. Fonts, images and the video are served from our own server; opening the site does not connect your browser to any other provider.
Hosting and server logs
The website runs on a server we rent from Contabo GmbH, Aschheimer Str. 4, 85774 Unterföhring, Germany. When a page is opened, the web server necessarily processes the following data and stores it in log files:
- the IP address of the requesting device,
- date and time of the request,
- the requested address (URL) and the amount of data transferred,
- browser type and operating system (user agent) and the previously visited page (referrer), if the browser sends them.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are used only for troubleshooting and for fending off attacks (for example by automatically blocking conspicuous IP addresses) and are deleted automatically after 14 days. They are not combined with other data and not passed on.
Encryption
All pages are delivered exclusively over encrypted HTTPS. Requests over unencrypted HTTP are redirected automatically to the encrypted address.
Your rights
You have the right to obtain information about the personal data we hold about you, as well as the rights to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing and data portability (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is the person named in the legal notice; you can reach us via the contact details given there.

Privacy policy of the Mampolu app
Last updated: 27 October 2026 (English translation of the authoritative German version)
Applies to: Mampolu for Android and the locally provided web version
In short
Mampolu is a children's game that is played offline. The app contains no advertising, no tracking, no analytics SDKs, no accounts, no social features and no in-app purchases. No personal data is transmitted to the provider or to third parties.
Data stored locally
The app stores data exclusively on the device:
- level unlocks, stars and best scores,
- the most recently chosen level,
- volume, sound and read-aloud settings, plus the second language of the read-aloud voice chosen by grown-ups,
- whether the one-time introduction has been completed,
- which found safari friends have already moved into the friends' meadow, where the child placed them there and which flowers it planted,
- which play places in the play room have already been opened once (the "new" marker disappears there),
- which hats from the dress-up chest the safari friends are wearing and which presents have already been unwrapped,
- which areas of the colouring pages are coloured in which colour, together with a small preview of the most recently coloured picture, and the free drawing on the blank page as an image file,
- up to twelve memory pictures for the meadow's pinboard: the "photos" from the hair salon, a picture of the birthday party in the bakery and finished colouring pages, each as a small image file and additionally as a larger image file in the app's private folder that other apps cannot access (excluded from iCloud backup on iPhone and iPad) so that a shared postcard is sharp. They show only the app's drawn characters and scenery; the device camera is not used for them,
- progress in the animal puzzles, animal pairs, counting stars, "guess the animal" and the maze (chosen size, completed rounds, which constellations are already in the sky, how often a level was completed),
- the play time chosen by the grown-up for the play timer and how long the child last played in one go, so that the break card appears at the right time,
- the game pace chosen by the grown-up (normal or relaxed) for each child,
- when a backup was last created (only the time, for the "Last backed up" note in the grown-up area),
- a local history of mistakes per level for gentle adaptive help,
- how often the child has assembled the animals' names from their letters, per animal, for the parent report in the grown-up area,
- if grown-ups create siblings in the grown-up area: which animal stands for which child (up to four children) and the saved progress of the children who are not currently playing. Names, ages or photos of the children are not requested and not stored for this.
This data serves only the game itself. It does not leave the device on its own and can be deleted in the settings via "Reset progress"; this applies to the child who is currently playing. Grown-ups delete a sibling's progress in the grown-up area with the × next to its animal. Uninstalling removes the app data as determined by the operating system. Android cloud backups are disabled in the app. On iPhone and iPad the app additionally keeps a copy of this game data in its own folder that other apps cannot access and that is excluded from iCloud backup; it serves only to restore the progress if iOS clears the web view's storage when space is low, and it is deleted together with the app.
In the grown-up area (behind an arithmetic question) grown-ups can create a backup: a text file with stars and levels, the hats being worn, the colouring pages including a small preview, the pictures on the pinboard and the progress of the play places. If there are siblings, the same file carries the progress of all children on the device and, for each child, the chosen animal, but no names. Device settings such as sound, language, second language and the play timer are not included; a child's relaxed game pace is. For this the app opens the device's share menu; where the file goes (for example a personal cloud storage or an e-mail to oneself) is decided solely by the grown-ups. The app itself transmits nothing. A backup can be read back in as a file or as pasted text; before overwriting, the app shows what it contains, for siblings the children's animals with their stars. A backup with siblings replaces all children on the device when loaded; a backup of a single child replaces only the child who is currently playing. Also only behind an arithmetic question, under a picture opened large in the memory album, grown-ups can share a picture as a postcard: an image with an instant-photo frame, the name Mampolu and a drawn stamp, without a link, without names and without any further data. The device's share menu opens (in the browser, the browser's share menu or a download); where the card goes is decided solely by the grown-ups. The app itself transmits nothing. The link "Rate in the store" in the same area opens the app's page in the Play Store or, on iPhone and iPad, in the App Store, outside the app.
Permissions and network
Mampolu does not request any sensitive Android permissions. The technically present internet permission is required by the embedded web runtime; the game does not load any content, advertising or analytics data from external servers while in use. Unencrypted network traffic is disabled.
Read-aloud
Mampolu can read short game texts aloud via the device's speech output, on Android via the system's text-to-speech function, on iPhone and iPad via the speech output of iOS. Only fixed texts from the game are read aloud, such as the animals' greetings and short instructions, never the child's input or data. Mampolu itself transmits nothing in the process. Which voice speaks and whether it works on the device or online is determined by the speech output configured in the operating system; installed voices usually work without internet. If no voice is available for the game language, the game stays silent. If grown-ups have chosen a second language, the voice afterwards also says individual fixed words (animal names, colours, numbers) in that language, using the voice the device provides for it. Read-aloud can be switched off in the settings.
Children and families
The app is aimed at families with children from about four years of age. Since no accounts, communication, location data, device identifiers, advertising profiles or other personal information are collected, no targeted data collection from children takes place.
Data sharing and retention
No data is sold, shared or stored server-side. The local game data remains until it is reset in the app, deleted via the Android system settings or uninstalled together with the app.
